Earlier this spring, I quietly launched MSUsportsAnalytics.com, a website for the Graduate Certificate in Sports Analytics program at Michigan State University.
It’s an honest representation of what we’ve built: a small, rigorous, practitioner-focused program that produces people who go work for NHL teams and get faculty positions at Big 12 schools.
The site started as a practical need. The program deserved a home that reflected its quality. So I built one that highlights the people and what they do, to make the program feel like it actually exists in the world.
When I showed it to my colleague, and Program Director, Albert Cohen, he called it “a love letter to the program.” I liked that. It’s accurate. It made the work and me feel valued. I also believe it shows alumni that we value them as colleagues and are proud of what they’ve accomplished.
If you’re looking to build the credential, this is where I’d start: MSUSportsAnalytics.com.
